Totterdown Arts Trail 2026!

Get ready to paint the town – and open those front doors – because Bristol’s oldest arts trail is returning for 2026!

Last year’s 25th-anniversary trail was our biggest and best event in history. Thanks to our amazing community, we welcomed a record-breaking number of visitors and featured more local artists, makers, and performers than ever before.

Now, we are gearing up to make 2026 even bigger, and we need you to help us make it happen.

This year, Totterdown Arts Trail is going back to our roots. Our theme for 2026 is HOMEGROWN.

Houses we need YOU!!

You don’t need to be an artist to take part! The secret sauce of the Totterdown Arts Trail has always been our iconic front rooms, hall spaces, and front gardens.

To host the bumper crop of artists joining us this year, we desperately need more local homes to open their doors.

Are you an artist without a Totterdown address? We’ll pair you up with a local host house!

Got a front room, garage, or garden space to share? Host a local artist for the weekend! It’s a wonderful way to meet neighbours, support the arts, and be right at the heart of the festival energy.

Get Involved Today

Whether you want to show your work, host an artist, or volunteer behind the scenes, we’d love to have you on board.

Not sure where to start? Send us an email let’s open the conversation about how you can get involved!

I am a printmaker based in Brislington, creating original handprinted linoprints inspired by anatomy. My prints vary from tiny prints to something a little larger. I try and make them affordable whilst still making something special and unique.

Theme

This year, Totterdown Arts Trail is going back to our roots. Our theme for 2026 is HOMEGROWN.

In a world of fast technology, digital noise we’re taking a moment to celebrate the grounding beauty of human creativity and local pride. Homegrown is an invitation to slow down, get back to basics, and shine a spotlight on what is nurtured right here on our steep and wonderful hills.

To us, Homegrown grows across three vital branches:

  • Homegrown Humans: Totterdown is bursting with brilliant artists, makers, and performers. This theme is a celebration of our neighbours and the vibrant community spirit that makes art happen right on our doorsteps.
  • Homegrown Hands: Nothing replaces the magic of real, tactile human craft. We’re putting handmade art front and centre – honouring the patience, practice, and heart that goes into making things by hand.
  • Homegrown Ideas: Creativity isn’t just framed on a gallery wall. If you bake sourdough, train a giant pumpkin, weave, carve, brew, or write song lyrics – you are creating. All forms of craftsmanship and cultivate-it-yourself passion are welcome here.

You’ll notice vegetables popping up throughout our artwork this year as our cheeky symbol of local cultivation, but everything made with passion is welcome on the trail.

From paints to pumpkins, prints to preserves… if it’s made with heart in Totterdown, it belongs here. Come see what’s blooming!
