Jay Blackwood
The Old Picture House, 7 Winton St, Totterdown, Bristol
BS4 2BS
Jay Blackwood makes assemblages, boxes and other three dimensional pieces using found objects and materials. He has been involved with Surrealism both as a creative practice and as a living revolutionary movement since the early 1990s, and has taken part in individual and group exhibitions both in the UK and abroad. His work straddles the border between dream and consensus reality, one reviewer describing it as “Toy Story on acid”. Jay also works with collage and photomontage, and postcards will be available on the stall, along with details of Surrealist activity in Bristol. All profits from Jay’s sales on the Arts Trail will go to the refugee support charity Refugee Action.
