My work is influenced by visits to countryside and forest, where I take photos of flowers and insects to use as reference for my own original paintings. I work in watercolour and often paint a background of black to give a 3-D finish. All paintings are individual and signed by me.
I have shown my work at many exhibitions throughout England and Ireland. In 2013 I completed a two-year diploma Botanical Painting course with the Society of Botanical Artists, and have exhibited with them several times at the annual exhibition at Westminster Hall, London.
I enjoy taking part in charity events, and several of my paintings have been donated to various causes. One event was the ‘Swans of Wells’ project when I was sponsored to paint two of the huge swans to be placed in Wells for the summer: they were sold at auction at the Bishop’s Palace.
I also paint watercolour collages with gold backgrounds, mainly of flowers which grow in my garden throughout the year, or gardens visited.
There will be giclee prints for sale. They will be professionally printed on quality paper, and will last approximately one hundred years.
A Christmas table will show my hand-painted ornaments.
A few of my hand-knitted scarves will also be available.
